Invincible: Incredible

Invincible

A GREAT, GREAT movie. Albeit I am partial to its Philadelphia theme (and it captures Philadelphia 70's spirit perfectly), it really is a great movie.

I'll tell you why.

There was very little Hollywood-cheese that saturates so many sports movies.

Vince Papale, played excellently by Mark Wahlberg, was on his own trying to be an Eagle.

There wasn't another player on the team that believed in him and was his lockeroom buddy, he wasn't friends with the equipment guy, and even when you saw a coach-player heartfelt talk coming, there wasn't one. He was alone, with no friends on that team, and wasn't really liked until he scored a touchdown.

Realistic.

Excellent movie, check it out.

You're dead right about Invincible ... I'm also glad they left most of the usual cliched crap, and they definitely caught the look and feel of 70s Philly
